The word xöömey

As far as the Tuvan dictionaries go, the Tuvan word xöömey just means "throat singing", not "throat". The word xöömey was borrowed from Mongolian and there it has both these meanings, cf. Khalkha xöömiy "pharynx; a singing technique in which the singer produces delicate overtones in addition to the fundamental tone", Literary Mongolian kögemei "pharynx, throat". Thanks! I know no Tuvan, so I am very ready to make whatever changes you suggest! Robert 02:52, 29 April 2006 (PDT)
