Ayan Shirizhik is member of the Tuvan throat singing group [[Alash]].  He was born in 1982 in Bay-Haak, but his family moved to Kyzyl when he was very young.  He began studying throat singing with Andrei Mongush from the group Huun-Huur-Tu. He is also a graduate of the Kyzyl Arts College and a member of the Tuvan National Orchestra. Shirizhik won second prize for throat singing at the 2008 International Symposium of Xöömei.
